“Ontario Police Department Detectives have reason to believe that there are additional victims in the sexual abuse arrest of Youth Pastor Gerardo Custodio Jr. (30) of Upland. Officers released the booking photo yesterday, and are encouraging anyone who has information, including victims and witnesses, to step forward with their assistance.
Reports state that Custodio is being charged with several counts of engaging in lewd acts with a minor, and held on several additional charges involving two victims.
Two women came into the OPD on Saturday to report that they had been victims of sexual abuse, and that the Youth Pastor had committed these acts.
The OPD report stated, “The first victim was 14-years-old when the alleged events took place, including several incidents on the church property. Victim 1 stated that she had contact with Gerardo Custodio Jr. between 2012 and 2014 when she was 14 years old and he was 24 years old.
“The second victim said she was 15 years old when the alleged events occurred. These incidents happened between 2014 and 2015 when Gerardo Custodio Jr. was 26 years old.”
The Youth Pastor is son of the Senior Pastor, Gerardo Custodio Sr., at Iglesia La Familia De Dios Church (since 1995) located at 1305 North Euclid Avenue in Ontario.
After being away from the church while attending college, Custodio Jr. has been Youth Pastor since 2011. After his arrest, bail has been set at $3 million.
